Project Manager – Polihali Transfer Tunnel

About the role

The MSKC Joint Venture is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead the design and construction supervision of the Polihali Transfer Tunnel, a key component of the Lesotho Highlands Water Project Phase II. Based in Maseru, the role involves overseeing the tunnel works that connect Polihali Dam to the Katse Reservoir and ensuring delivery to the Ash River outfall in South Africa.

Key responsibilities

• Lead a multidisciplinary team of consultants and contractors delivering tunnel design and construction supervision.
• Manage contract administration under the consultancy agreement, including change, cost, programme, quality and procurement.
• Chair regular project meetings, produce progress reports and communicate with the Joint Venture Policy Committee and client management team.
• Oversee risk, stakeholder and resource management across the project lifecycle.
• Ensure compliance with FIDIC contract terms and local regulations.

Required profile

• Minimum 15 years post‑graduate civil engineering experience, with progressive responsibility in design, project development and water‑resource infrastructure.
• At least 5 years experience managing projects under FIDIC contracts.
• Proven experience in African or similar developing‑country environments.
• Professional Engineer registration and a degree in Civil Engineering.
• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is an advantage.
