Project Manager – Elections

About the role

The United Nations Development Programme is seeking a Project Manager to lead the implementation of a comprehensive election support project in Lesotho, working closely with the Independent Electoral Commission, government ministries and civil society partners.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and oversee annual work plans, detailed implementation plans, budgets, procurement and HR plans, ensuring alignment with UNDP Country Office processes.
• Lead consultations with national, district and local authorities, traditional leaders and implementing partners to deliver project components.
• Supervise UNDP project personnel and manage recruitment, onboarding and performance of technical experts and partners.
• Monitor project progress against targets, provide regular field updates, and coordinate monitoring, evaluation and reporting frameworks.
• Facilitate knowledge management, training and documentation of lessons learned and best practices.

Required profile

• Proven experience in managing development or election‑related projects in a multi‑stakeholder environment.
• Strong coordination skills with government agencies, NGOs and UN entities.
• Ability to supervise staff, manage budgets and ensure compliance with UNDP policies.
