Nutrition Coordinator

About the role

The World Food Programme (WFP) is recruiting a Nutrition Coordinator based in Maseru, under the supervision of the Resident Coordinator. The post supports the Resident Coordinator and the Government of Lesotho in accelerating the national nutrition agenda by strengthening coordination, resource mobilization, stakeholder engagement and accountability across sectors and levels of governance.

Key responsibilities

• Advise the Resident Coordinator on nutrition priorities, policies and interventions, including the Food and Nutrition Strategic Framework (2026-2031) and Lesotho's Nutrition for Growth (N4G) commitments.
• Strengthen multisectoral coordination under the Scaling Up Nutrition (SUN) Movement, engaging government, UN agencies, donors, civil society, academia and the private sector.
• Support the integration of the Chiefs' nutrition commitments and organize quarterly coordination meetings with the College of Chiefs, including agendas, briefing materials and follow-up.
• Facilitate resource mobilization and advocacy, preparing concept notes, funding proposals, donor presentations and partnership documents.
• Document and share lessons learned, success stories and good practices, and promote youth engagement through existing platforms such as Sebabatso.
• Report periodically to the Resident Coordinator and produce regular coordination monitoring reports.

Deliverables

• A detailed annual workplan with KPIs, milestones and outputs, approved within the first month.
• SUN platforms reactivated and operational, with regular meetings and monitored action points.
• An effective coordination mechanism between the Resident Coordinator's Office, FNCO, SUN platforms and key stakeholders.
• Quarterly meetings with the College of Chiefs and forums with development partners and the private sector.
