Financial Specialist – Donor Fund Management

About the role

The Financial Specialist will ensure effective financial oversight of donor‑funded projects and partner organisations, safeguarding compliance with donor requirements and internal policies. This position supports capacity‑building for partners, conducts financial risk assessments, and collaborates closely with program teams to align financial management with project objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare detailed funding requirements, forecasts and budget revisions for major grants and projects.
• Coordinate quarterly forecasts, consolidating inputs from project teams and partners.
• Develop grant proposal budgets and ensure timely submission.
• Maintain donor reporting templates and compile partner financial reports.
• Process VAT claims and ensure accurate supporting documentation.
• Coordinate credit SA to SO processes and PBAS commitments.
• Provide capacity‑building support to implementing partners on financial systems and compliance.
• Conduct financial risk assessments and support audit activities.
• Track disbursements, reconcile accounts and ensure transparent financial reporting.

Required profile

• Proven experience in financial management of donor‑funded projects.
• Strong knowledge of grant budgeting, reporting and donor compliance.
• Ability to work collaboratively with NGOs, partners and internal teams.
• Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills.
• Effective communication skills for partner coordination.
