About the role
The Finance & Compliance Specialist supports the Faith and Community Initiative (FCI) country programme by ensuring sound financial management, grant compliance, internal controls, and sub‑award oversight in line with World Vision policies and donor requirements.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain country‑level budgets, phased spending plans, cash forecasts and budget‑versus‑actual analyses in coordination with the Chief of Party and the global finance team.
- Review expenditures, account coding, journal entries, reconciliations, advances and liquidations to ensure accuracy, proper approval and correct budget allocation.
- Produce timely monthly, quarterly, annual and donor financial reports, including variance explanations, burn‑rate analysis and management recommendations.
- Manage cash flow, fund requests, partner advances and liquidation follow‑up, ensuring advances align with approved work plans and implementation schedules.
- Monitor financial flows to local partners (CHAs, FBOs), ensuring timely disbursement, proper utilization, reconciliation and accountability of project resources.
- Lead country‑level financial closeout activities, including final expenditure review, accrual tracking, partner closeout, final reporting and documentation retention.
- Track burn rates and budget utilization, escalating financial risks and variances to the Chief of Party as needed.
